Our Mission
The Trivian Institute is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit research and education organization. We believe artificial intelligence is changing not only what people can accomplish, but also how they think, communicate, and solve problems. This shift makes the relationship between human and machine intelligence a critical frontier for research, education, and public design.
Our mission is to ensure that as human and technological systems converge, human agency remains the primary architect of this evolution. We move beyond simple prompting tips to build the intellectual and practical tools people need to remain intentional, critical, and autonomous partners alongside advanced technology.
Our Core Strategic Pillars:

Our Vision
We envision a future where human intelligence and AI systems develop in stable, responsible alignment. As digital tools integrate into every layer of learning, creativity, and governance, our goal is to build an educational and research ecosystem that prevents passive dependence or automation bias. We work toward a future where collective intelligence is expanded, human responsibility is strengthened, and the relationships between people, technology, and the living world contribute to the resilience of the whole.
Our Philosophy
We believe the integrity of any dynamic system, whether it is a human organization, a learning environment, or a human–AI collaboration—is determined by the health of its feedback loops. When communication is purely transactional, context degrades, trust erodes, and systemic drift occurs.
To solve this, the Institute bridges rigorous systems theory with decades of observational discipline in coordination, language, and human perception. By analyzing how context accumulates and shifts over extended interactions, we create practical design principles that keep human oversight at the center of automated networks.
WHAT WE DO
The Trivian Institute translates theoretical coordination models into concrete, scalable public assets. We conduct interdisciplinary research, develop educational programs, and build tools that help people and organizations collaborate with AI more effectively and responsibly.
Our Tangible Contributions Include:
- Publishing Open Research: Distributing white papers, naturalistic data sets, and case studies on longitudinal human–AI interaction through open repositories like GitHub and Zenodo.
- Developing Public Curricula: Designing and hosting training systems, interactive workshops, and educational programs for educators, creators, and organizational leaders.
- Architecting Multi-Agent Frameworks: Building open-source templates and decentralized protocols that show developers how to coordinate multiple AI systems transparently and safely.
- Convening Working Groups: Bringing together a distributed network of researchers, academic institutions, and public-benefit stakeholders to collaborate on new evaluation metrics for interactive AI.
By providing these open resources, we are building the functional infrastructure for a new paradigm—transforming technology from a tool of passive automation into a space for deliberate, human-driven collaboration.
Our Research Philosophy
We believe the future of AI will depend not only on increasingly capable models but also on increasingly capable relationships.
Healthy collaboration requires more than technical performance. It depends on communication, transparency, reciprocity, governance, and continual learning.
Our research seeks to understand these dynamics and develop frameworks that can be examined, refined, challenged, and applied by others.
We view scientific progress as an open, iterative process. Every publication is an invitation for dialogue, replication, critique, and collaboration.
Sarasha Elion
Founder & Executive Director
Sarasha Elion is an interdisciplinary researcher, educator, and founder whose work explores how humans and artificial intelligence develop enduring patterns of collaboration. Drawing on more than two decades of experience in movement education, yoga, and contemplative practice, they bring an embodied perspective to complex questions of communication, coordination, and responsible collaboration within emerging technological systems.
As the founder of the Trivian Institute, Sarasha directs an open-science program dedicated to investigating the relational dynamics, long-term context retention, and governance structures of human–AI interaction. This research is informed by The Ahava Way, the educational framework Sarasha founded to explore the relationships between movement, attention, resilience, and embodied learning.
Complementing this somatic grounding, Sarasha holds a Master of Fine Arts in creative writing, bringing a disciplined attention to language, narrative, and meaning. Together, these experiences inform their research into how communication shapes trust, understanding, and long-term human–AI collaboration. Through the Trivian Institute, Sarasha works to develop research, educational programs, and open frameworks that support responsible collaboration in service of the broader wellbeing of people, communities, and the living systems on which they depend.
